Students are offered courses in office occupation, food serv- ices, electronics, auto mechanics, farm mechanics, carpentry, masonry, welding, and machine shop. 30 Lunchroom Lunchroom Staff Maintenance Charles Proveaux Maintenance Prime Brown Assistant Maintenance 31 Jan McMillan jGrownprl Queen S Is'r, _ ttle Kn it there an V sier sok OpemngDay( AT WHS J and pi A chance t morrow in locus, out with a goc r M) New World f( Graduation Fashion nK of th Seniors 1971 - 1972 We are standing at the threshold to another world, We are waiting to enter and begin adult life, While we wait, our thoughts wander back in time. Meek and unsure, we had entered the past era of adolescence, And then began the climb in rank while adjusting to our responsibilities and positions. The web of life grew more complex and entangling, We searched for a way to enrich and simplify this web with our advancing knowledge. We knew the world would become ours, ours to improve or to destroy. Only we could make that decision. Now we have arrived at a rendez vous with this decision. Our courage must be brought forth, And we must march on to make this world a better place. i 34 35 Roaming around is favorite pastime Archie Ackerman Brad Ackerman Naomi Rabboni Adams Wallace Addison Dennis Gerald Bailey Deborah Baker Betty Becker James F. Although they lost many close games in the beginning, they re- fused to give up and continued to improve through- out the season. The Bulldogs tied a tough Berkeley team in the next to last game and won their last game 14-0 over Goose Creek. They finished with a 2-7-1 record for the season. The improvement shown over the season and a victory in their last game paves the way for next season as 25 lettermen will be returning. no Varsity Football Coaches: Gerald Price, Fred Bradley, Head Coach, Robert Williams, and John Ewing. The season came to an end with a record that was not on the bottom, but just a little too far from the top. Many exciting games were played during the season in which many Bulldogs set individual conference records. The season did not end with the title, “State Champs'1, but we do believe that we are champs in the following ways: Good Sportsmanship, Cooperation and Courtesy, and Good Character and Responsibility. 118 119 Cooperation and Team Spirit Dominate the Season Throughout the entire season, the girls bas- ketball team, under the direction of Coach Fred Bradley, has displayed its desire to win. Long, hard practices and complete devotion to the game itself have made the 1971-1972 girls basketball season a good one. The girls played against some tough opponents but always came through. Sometimes the score doesn't always tell the whole story of the game and this was the case with our girls a couple of times. No matter what the outcome of the game — win or lose — our girls basketball team has kept their Bulldog spirit. 120 1 121 Junior Cheerleaders Keep Bulldogs Howling 122 123 Aetion - Timing - Determination - Practice The track team has again this year displayed a tremendous amount of physical ability and the scores of the meets have proven this. All the members of the team, coached by Coach Gerald Price, have spent much of their time in order to form a winning team. Timing, practice, and determination have been the main factors in achieving this goal. Every year this sport gains more fans and plays an important part in the school's athletic pro- gram. 124 i 125 Runs - Errors Hits - This year the Bulldog baseball team coached by Coach Bob Williams has provided an immeasurable amount of entertainment for the students of Wal- terboro High School. The season got off to a good start with an unusual number of boys trying out for the team. Due to this, every position was filled with the best player. Many new faces seen on the field this year have proved to be just what the team needed. Each member has contributed to the team by always doing his best — whether at practice or in a game. Thie hard work has paid off by making this season one to remember. 12S Members of the Bulldog Baseball Team 127 The Drug Threat. b « JMl V.IU1 f Take the ti TVientjj the Yjectsions Great Moyies L n TtYc ncc. Just what does the Focus of this light reveal for you? 164 We, the PAW PRINT staff of 1972, hope that we have put into proper focus the happenings of our school year. We have tried to capture the most treasured pictures and put them on paper to bring back your 1971-72 memories in years to come. The PAW PRINT was made possible through the hard work and consideration of many people - our patrons, faculty, students, staff, and advisor - To them our deepest gratitude.
