It is literally a thing of beauty, and students and faculty are proud of it. Aware of the importance of physical fitness for the future citizens of America, the Physical Education de- partment's goals of agility, strength, skill, endur- ance, and good sportsmanship are sought through a program of P. An understanding of the past is a necessary compo- nent of the understanding of our present. With this in mind, in addition to textbook study, students learn from guest speakers, student speakers, and special current literature. Social studies courses at WHS include world history, civics, and Problems of Democracy. These courses teach the student not only the history of our world and nation, but also how our government is organized and how its purpose is carried out.
