NELL SIMMONS, The department offers civics, world his- tory, American history, and American government. Civics and American government explain the working of our system of legislature. World history is the story of mankind!s development from his earliest appear- ance on earth to his life in the twentieth century with special emphasis on the scientific, cultural, and ar- tistic accomplishments of each nation. American history goes into detail about the founding of our country and its growth. This helps the student under- stand things that are going on in the world around him.
