Bsi?'- • 1IM-:. llp ••;• Mpfe ■ ■ ASCRAP DRIVE This year in our high school we hdve been doing things to help bring Victory sooner Our President urged the people to help collect scrap Drives were put on in all of the schools Our high school collected 100«,000 lbs of scrap metal and rubber WAR BONDS AND STAMPS in the lobby of the school every day at recess, the National Honor Society sells War Bonds and Stamps A goal has been set —to sell enough War Bonds and Stamps by the end of the school year to buy a Jeep This Jeep will cost $900 VICTORY CORPS The 9th, 10th, and 11th grade pupils are eli gible for membership in the Victory Corps This organization has five divisions: Land, Air, Sea, Community, and Production Each has different qualifications, but they all require Physic. cal Education which .is taught by Miss Tanner and Coach Martin An obstacle course is used, calisthenics and team sports are stressed Many are enrolled in this course Other courses which help the pupils for these divisions are: Shop, Agriculture, Co-op, a class in Retail Salesmanship, Home Economics, Home Nursing, Electricity, Math- ematics, and the Commercial subjects About 75 per cent of our pupils are doing voluntary work, such as being employed in some store, planting Victory Gardens, spotting planes, and rolling bandages RED CROSS . We realize that the Red Cross is one of the largest and most necessary organizations in our “All out for Victory Program”;, To this organization, our school has contributed the following amounts: Soldier Kits, $69 07| The enrollment of the Junior Red Cross Membership, $31 04; Red Cross contri- butions, $97 52; and to several other individual organizations
