OUR MRS.HOLBROOK Mrs. Ann Bobo Holbrook was born June 21, 1933, in Oxford, Alabama. She attended DeArmanville Elementary School and Oxford High Schoolwhere she was graduated in 1951. Her f|$shman year in college was spent at Jacksonville State University, but she transferred to Howard College (now Samford University) and received her B. S. Degree in 1957. Mrs. Holbrook worked her way through high school and college, first as a waitress in a restaurant, later as a church secretary, then as youth director in several churches. Her schooling was interrupted several times due to the need to work full time in order to get the necessary financial resources to return to school. Throughout all of these years, her ultimate goal was to become a teacher. This goal finally be- came a reality in the fall of 1957, when she began teaching physical education at Southern High School in Louisville. Kentucky. It was the fall of 1958, when Mrs. Holbrook, then Miss Ann Bobo, first came to Wellborn to teach physical education. In August, 1959, she was married to Mr. Finley Holbrook, Jr., a Baptist minister from Kentucky. Mr. and Mrs. Holbrook returned to Louisville where her husband was attending the seminary. After teaching for five years at Southern High School, she returned to Wellborn where she has been teaching for the past six years. The Holbrooks’ have one son, William Mark.
