Among the team's swimmers who distinguished themselves at events were Greg Van Dyke, the fourth-best breaststroker in the county, and Charles Borden, sixth best diver. The entire team displayed winning spirit in its winter long pur- suit of athletic honor. Our girls' team also had a superior season swimming, with overall fourth place in the county. The team took part in several meets: notably the East Carolina University lVleet, at which Karen Rydland took first places in diving and breaststroke, and Shelly Hall won the 200 meters.
