BRO DE WE LEARN OE OTHERS What is one of the main objectives of Eskimos? Give up? Actually, their objectives are much like ours, but few people know this until it is pointed out to them, as it is in the sociology classes. The sociology classes, studying man's behavior, and the history classes, concerned with past actions and government of man, are bound together by this tie. Geography, Far Eastern affairs, Pan-American affairs, economics, and Problems of Democracy complete the repertoire of courses offered by the Social Studies Department. Carrying the idea further, the International Re- lations Clubs study, through projects, relations be- tween people of different nations, emphasizing cur- rent developments in this area. in Mrs. Bortz emphasizes the Mr. Craig illustrates with a solution parallelogram BUILD W RLD WONDERS NEVER CEASE The familiar lament, I just Wasn't born to do mathj' Warrants little sympathy from the Math Department' in WJ. In fact, even if you still don't cherish math by the end of the year, you Will at least have acquired a good appreciation and a thorough understanding of quadratic equations, imaginary numbers, and 30-60 degree right tri- angles. T0 make the learning process even more palatable, the Flexagons were available to prove that math can be fun. Who has ever heard of searching for problems? Such was the pastime of the Flexagons. Making flexagons, polygons that can be folded so that their many sides can appear, was one of the club's projects. Having mastered this, they Went on to construct hexahexaflexagons.
