Class History I found that it was becoming more and more difficult to study. With an unde- feated football team, Saturday was not a day for the books, and besides, everyone was getting his driver's license. Now the fun really began! At the Christmas dance I had a heavenly time and felt like quite the adult, Soon after The Night of January I6, the snow came, but the buses did not. I had a week to relax from the bustle of study and basketball. Fantasia was a tremendous success, but grades took a nose-dive during rehearsals. Well, I thought, I can really work this spring. We all did, and it really showed. Honors came thick and fast to several members of our class in science, poetry, and journalism. Before we knew it, it was time for the Junior-Senior Prom. This year had gone by so quickly that it hardly seemed natural that the seniors were leaving. Even more strange was the fact that we were almost seniors! Me-a senior! Part III Can it be that I am really being graduated this year? It doesn't seem possible already, but here I am, a senior-mature, sophisticated, glorious, and extremely confused. What will I be doing a couple of years 'from now? This was my last year of the loving care and protection of public school, and what a year it wasl The dominant question throughout the year was, Will I or won't I get into col- lege? The suspense was unbearable. Finally, in May, I breathed a tremendous sigh of relief. I had been accepted, now I could relax a little from the frenzied studying I'd been doing all year. Of course I hadn't let my studying interfere with too many activities-there was the Windup, Football, basketball, track, The Curious Savage, Fantasia . . . The list was really Iongl Our officers this final year were Pete Labovitz, president, Charlie Mathews, vice- president, Don Fresh, treasurer, and Marilyn Twiss, secretary. They were the ones who, with the Senior Class Council, planned all those wonderful end-of-year activities which added so much to our senior year. The grand climax of high school will come soon now when I step up on the stage to receive my diploma-symbol of the end of one stage of my life. No more carefully side-stepping the Spartan plaque, no more staring at blue, green, and orange walls, no more listening to gentle moos floating sweetly into afternoon classes. Why I'm getting nostalgic before I've Ieftl I know I'Il miss all of this, but I'm already looking ahead and planning for what next year will bring. So it goes. We are continually preparing for the future. As seniors, we find the world our oyster-we've finished the first step in prying open the shell. With a bit of application we're bound to succeed, and-who knows?-for some of us, perhaps, there will be a pearl, SENIORS JOHN DENNIS EVANS National Honor Society president I2, Key Club I2, vice-president II, SCA representative II, I2, Co-ordinating Council representative II, I2 SUE ANNE EVANS Pom pon I2, Tri Hi-Y secretary IO, vice-president II, president I2, Co-ordinating Council representative IO, Social Committee IO, II, I2, GAA II, I2, Fantasia II JUDITH ELAINE EVERETT Fantasia IO, II, Dramatics Club IO, II, I2, Thespians II, I2, Night of January 16 II, Elec- tion Committee I2, Chorus II, I2 RANDOLPH BENNETT FETZER Pitch managing editor I2, Bethesda Tribune I2, Ways and' Means Committee I2, Creative Writing Club vice-president I2, Reporters Club II, International Relations Club II, chorus IO, I2, Co-ordinating Council alternate I2 WILLIAM FORD from Methodist Boys' School, Kaula Lumpur, Federation of Malaya: swimming captain IO, WJ: semi-finalist, National Merit Scholarship I2, Chess Club IO, Electronics Club II, I2, Athletic Committee I2, Honor Roll ll MICHAEL STUART FORMAN Financial Committee IO, II, I2, audio visual IO, Il, I2, Biology Club II, school store worker II, I2 JOAN FOURNIER French Club IO, chorus IO, I2, Welfare Committee I2, Tri Hi-Y I2 DONALD WESLEY FRESH National Honor Society II, I2, Junior Class treasurer II, Senior Class treasurer I2, Wheel Club IO, II, president I2, Inter-High treasurer I2, SCA representative II, football JV II, basketball JV IO JACQUELYN FYOCK bank JAMES MICHAEL GAFFNEY Rifle Club IO, homeroom chaplain IO, Athletic Committee IO, Dramatics Club, In-School Publicity Committee I2, Key Club treasurer II, I2 EDWARD GANZ National Honor Society II, I2, Executive Council I2, SCA treasurer I2, representative NCTE contest I2, Electronics Club president II, I2, Science Bulletin physics editor IO, I2, editor-in-chief II, Debating Society II, Pitch IO, Wheel Club II, I2, laboratory assistant I2, Financial Committee II, I2, band II MALCOLM GEFTER from Jamaica High School, New York: Arista Honor Society II, band IO, II, Biology Newspaper 25 editor II, Project Club II, Advanced Science Club IO, I I, laboratory assistant I I, Westing- house Science Club II, dean assistdnt IO, soccer II, WJ: band I2 I Ia- S 5: as QF' Y . 3 'tw Lg..- 1- 'Y' is ' . , E. .
