Aside from their routine secretarial duties such as taking dictation, sorting mail, and typing, Mrs, Helen Shorrock, with her staff, Mrs. Harriet Cummins, Mrs, Dorothy Langhorne, and Mrs. Charlotte Miller, efficiently organize and transact all the business work of the school. Mrs. Shorrock, as treasurer of the school and Mr. Gregory's personal secretary, has her hands full. lt is she who is in charge of ordering all of the school supplies which include everything from Scotch tape to snow shovels. Every day, from just after dawn until midnight, the janitorial staff, headed by Allen Bolton, cleans the school from top to bottom and end to end. Needed repairs are promptly made. The responsibility of this staff, however, does not stop with mere cleaning. Setting up chairs before meetings, straightening up after dances, re- placing burned out light bulbs, and many other little services are performed routinely by the staff. They also have been beautifying the grounds. Many of the plants are donated by the men themselves, and are kept in the greenhouse. Would you like to cook and wash dishes for more than six hundred people? Mrs. ONeill and her small army of twelve cafeteria helpers, backed by thirteen student reinforcements, make, serve and clean up lunch for that number every day. lt seems impossible that at eight o'clock in the morning they march in to emerge victorious at lunchtime over gallons of soup, mountains of sandwiches, and dozens of pies. Only shrewd planning makes it possible to do this immense job l ' smoothly in so short a time. Besides purchasing the many varied ingre- f dients, the cooking has to be coordin- K X ated so that each item will be ready H V I ,A f ' to serve at the same time. ., .:- , ,jf ., 1 .
