The fans applaud wildly. Then a voice booms, Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, for their second time in Greensboro . . No one hears the rest of the introduction or really needs to. For almost three hours they will be surrounded by the songs of their favorite group. 0own on the floor, people pack into the aisles like sardines, waving, dancing, and applauding wildly. Cameras flash, and the concert begins. The main reason for touring is to promote an album, so most of the groups new material is performed. At the same time they don't want to neglect their old songs, so they vary the presenta- tion, Eventually, there are no more songs to play and the group says, Good-night , but not in a very convincing tone, and they leave the stage, They will not be gone long, however, because almost every group does an encore. To make sure that the con- cert will continue, the audience applauds wildly, Finally the per- formers reappear and grant their wish: an encore. But soon, even the encore is over, and the band leaves until the next concert. Finally the houselights come back up, and the concert appears to be over, but it is not. It will remain forever in the minds of all who were there. av' 'Mk Heart: 1 February 3, 'l Q79 Concerts E1
