Mrs Jane Poor Receives BUCCANEER Dedication Caring. Dedicated. Vivacious. Enthusiastic. These are the words that the students of Page associate with Mrs. Jane Poor. Her unique qualities draw the interest of all who come in contact with her. She is a versatile lady whose numerous accomplishments have distinguished her in Page High School as well as the community. Being a psychology teacher and advisor to the junior class officers, she stays in close contact with many stu- dents. Her concern for them and her humorous wit make Mrs. Poor a friend as well as a teacher. The enthusiasm which she generates encourages school spirit during pep rallies. Mrs. Poor is also involved with many local and state functions such as the Close-up program and the state government seminar. One of Mrs. Poor's most outstanding accomplishments is the development of Social Service Seminar in Greensboro. SSS is a program giving teenagers the oppor- tunity to do volunteer work in fields of their choice, which benefits the institutions and businesses involved with the program. Currently, Page High School is the only school which offers SSS as a course in its curriculum, and many other schools will follow our example. These are just a fraction of the wonderful things Jane Poor has done for Page High School and the community. Speaking for the students of Page High School, we wish to honor her with this dedication.
