The 1967-68 basketball season was highlighted bv the valiant effort of a young team, led by two seniors, Bobby Flemons and David Bankston. Bobby Flemons, uncontested most valuable player, set a single game record of 45 points. The younger members also gained needed experience that will benefit them next year. Although the season as a whole was not a winning one, it was highlighted in the aspects of individual skill and second effort combined for synchronized teamwork. With the return of 10 of 12 varsity members; Freshman Terry Lester, Sophomores Lance Kennedy, Nelson Canady, Chris Stephens, Johnny Caldwell, Tommy Martin, and Juniors Jephath Cephus and John Dawson, next year ' s record will undoubtedly be a winning one. During a time-out, Coach Wisener outlines strategy to his team for the remain- ing minutes. Nelson Canady launches a jump shot for a probable two points. Alert Falcons a wait a decisive jump- ball.

Girl Cagers Break Even for Season team the opportunity for Rom 1: Lynndale Paden, Kay Campbell. Debbie Brown, Regina Felker, Chris Mills, Debbie Miller. Row 2: Judy Wil- liams, Debbie Stover. Row 3: Janice Williams, Pam Chamblee, Coach Harmon. I If one were asked to define in one word the ide as expressed by the words sacrifice, work, dedication, joy, and despair, the ' word would be athletics. The girls basketball team at George High is fully aware of this. The pre-season games ended with a 4-1 record and an invitation to the Bass Christ- mas Tournament. However the Ladies from George were eliminated by North Fulton in the first round. The sub-region opened on a disastrous note with two straight losses to Carver and Brown. The team rebounded, though, and finished the sub-region play with a 5-7 record. The girls won their first game ever in the city tournament by beating Roosevelt. But the note of frustration returned the second night when the lady Falcons were eliminated bv arch-rival Fulton. ' Oh, I ' m not that good! 85
