Falcon Band Talented Performances Keep Spirits High The task of a high school band is a very difficult one. Half-time shows at football games, special assem- blies, and pep rallies are only a few of the major ones. The Walter F. George Band has done an outstanding job of accomplishing these tasks. Fifty-five is not a large number of band members, but with much practice and good leadership this small band has been made a very effective one. Much credit is due to band director Wayne G. Goggine, but much is also due to student leaders. Captain Barry Welsh, First Lieutenant Mike Cavallin, Second Lieutenant David Brinson, Sergeant Major Danny Talley, and Drum Major Joe Duren have put forth much effort to make this band the best it could possibly be.
