Row 4: Danny Fowler, Leon Crawley, Smitty Stephens, Howard Bixby, Don Burdette, Rickey Lane, Miss Swain. The Music Department of George consists of six choirs. The 8th grade special choir, with President Gay Irwin and Vice-President Mi- chele Bradley, consists exclusively of eighth graders. Choir One officers Gay Bently and Pam Stephens and Choir Three President Susan Shipmen encourage the members of these mixed choirs to outstanding perfor- mances. Sybil Proux is president of Choir Seven, our all-girls choir. Choir Five, com- posed of Upperclassmen, responds to the lead- ership of their President, Cynthia Keen. Choir Nine is the 11th and 12th grades advanced choir with President Judy Sorrow. Frequent trips have kept these choirs busy in the past and will continue to occupy their time this spring. During the Christmas sea- son all choirs participated in the P. T. A. Program and a school-wide assembly. The Girls ' Choir sang at Highview Nursing Home while Choir One traveled to Wesley Woods Apartments, a home for the elderly. Concerts were presented at Lenox Square and Stewart Lakewood shopping centers. Plans for the fu- ture include a variety show in March, a Spring Concert in May, and music programs to be presented at local churches.
