How about a Christmas tree on this one? The purpose of the Art Club is to arouse and to aid in sus- taining, a direct and lively interest in all forms of art. Art Club activities that the members were involved with for the past year include; making 1500 Christmas cards which were sent to Vietnam, touring several museums and craft shops, and taking field trips to scenic areas for sketching exercises. Periodically, guest lecturers are invited to attend the meet- ings. The primary purpose for lectures is to help stress the esthetic relationship to be found among the works of artists sep- arated by space, time, and media ; and the understanding of art as an important element in the cultural development of mankind throughout the ages. Art Club members work preparing Christmas cards for mailing to Vietnam. Art Club Directs Christmas Card Production for Servicemen in Fietnam Row 1: Debbie Frazier, Tessie Dedis, Judy Sorrow. A Puritan encounter with the Indians is re- created by Drama Club members at Thanks- giving Assembly. The Drama Club informs the PTA about a typical day at school. The Drama Club, sponsored by Mrs. Stickle and Miss Grier, is a fairly new venture at George. Despite its newness, it has been involved in many of the school ' s activities. Part in the Thanksgiving and Christmas pro- grams, sponsoring a dance, and usher- ing at Theatre Atlanta have kept some sixty members very busy. President David Brinson and the other officers, Judy Williamson, vice- president; Nina Newman, secretary; Linda Smith, treasurer; now have plans for producing a play, BLITHE SPIRIT in the spring. Lee Eltzroth is the reporter for this productive club. Requirements for membership in the Drama Club are very liberal. Any stu- dent, grades eight through twelve, who is interested in drama, is invited to join.
