Elaine Parker 1968 Homecoming Queen Homecoming 1968 was a momentous occasion. The blue and white decorations carried out the theme of Rhapsody in Blue. The decorations, supplied by the art department, were arranged beautifully throughout the gym by the Student Council. Flower arrangement of blue crepe paper were placed on each table and on the red-carpeted stairs. Streamers of varying shades of blue and hand made blue corsages, carried by members of the Home- coming Court, further carried out the motif. Members of the Homecoming Court selected by popular vote of the student body were escorted by Varsity football players. Each thrilled member of the court, especially the seniors, anx- iously awaited the announcement that Elaine Parker would reign at 1968 Homecoming Queen. Miss Nancy Prickett, last year ' s queen, crowned Elaine as the entire court received the audience ' s applause. Regally hearing the crown, Queen Elaine Parker assumes her throne.i Candid views of Elaine at a Student Council meeting re- flect the natural beauty, poise, and involvement which lead the student body to vote her 1968 Homecoming Queen. Happiness is being Homecoming Queen.

Outstanding Seniors Honored For Accomplishments Janice Williams has participated actively in many phases of the i school program. Athletic endeavors are her particular forte. She was a B-Team cheerleader and has been a Varsity cheerleader for the past two years. The Varsity basketball and tennis teams have benefited from Janice ' s spirited participation. Serving the school, Janice has been a member of student council and various other clubs. Energetic involvement combined with a friendly and out- going personality make her an excellent choice for the honor of Miss George High. Scholarship and service keynote Melvyn Richardson ' s high school life. He has served in student government and is currently presi- dent of the Senior class. Membership in the Beta Club and Na- tional Honor Society attest to his academic achievement. An officer in military, Melvyn ' s leadership has helped train this year ' s color guard. A quiet dignity, respected by students and faculty alike, make Melvyn an outstanding recipient of the title of Mr. George High.
