w d 7 MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL TO THE PUPILS OF -W4-L'1f WQTMIQXN-JUNIOR HIGH scHooL This is the last time I will write to you in the pages of the nPioneerH as your principal. I am sure that most of you know that I am retiring from the school system at the end of this term. I have spent many years in the field of education as teacher and as principal. I have enjoyed every one of these years. I will long remember Walt Whitman Junior High School. I believe that it is one of the best junior high schools in the city. I am happy to state that I believe that you, the pupils of Walt Whitman Junior High School, are outstanding students. I have the greatest admiration for your character, your inter- est in your work, and your outstanding achievements. I will miss you most of all when I retire. I have one final message. All studies indicate the great im- portance of a college education. A college degree is a prime prerequisite for a good position in any type of industry. Get all the education you can. It will stand you in good stead. To you, the graduates of the class of 1961, the last class over whose exercises I will preside as principal, I extend my sincerest wishes for a happy and successful future.
