PROPHECY Rich man, poor man, beggar man, thief; Doctor, lawyer, Indian Chief. Men from boys are bound to grow. The earth their worldly goods to show. Housewife, career girl, whatever you may. O ' er all the lands the girls will stray; The college campus will be so bright. In the light of the day and the soft of the night. We ' ll carry with us a strong reflection. For Walstonburg High in every direction. Seniors, to Seniors, all of us. Not ever to gripe, complain or fuss. We ' ve covered the market in every profession. So gather round and check the lesson. Betty Hobbs, a bright brunette. Was never one to cry or fret, When her college days have passed. An English teacher she ' ll be classed. Bedecked in jewels. Bright and beautiful. Will she make a wife so sweet and dutiful? Maybe a nurse with laughter so light. Wherever she is, Betty Gaye will be right. Subject to the draft and bound to pass. Is Eugene Beaman, alas, alas. He ' ll beat ' em to the draw, he ' ll lose the mob. He ' ll get a blue suit and be a gob. Lois Wooten with mind so serious. Has never seemed a bit delirious. She ' ll be so happy as she tends her students. Never will she see the least impudence. In being a success there is a key, A very hard worker you must be. To Jimmy Cox, show business looks fine. He ' ll find in the theater a huge gold mine. An up-to-date farmer, hard to beat, Watching the rain, the snow, the sleet, Clarence Mercer will plant his crops. In all Greene County his farm will be tops. In every group there is always one. To whom being a wife is the only fun. Delma Wooten is the pride and joy. Of a cute convertible and a wonderful boy. Quiet as a mouse and very cute Going to work in a trim blue suit, Orthy Wooten will succeed As a librarian, fine indeed. Maylon Shirley the lanky one. Whose biggest thrill is to throw a pun. Will be a plow jockey and a farming man With a loaded wallef and a face dead pan. Wesley Cobb, the athletic type. Has never been heard to utter a gripe. His biggest thrill is a basketball, And to play for State with seldom a fall. To mold little minds an essential thing. For in their hearts happiness must ring. To Miss Dean Tugwell the biggest aim. Is to teach the kids the very best game. To Jimmy Shirley who loves the air. No other career would be quite fair. Than to fly a plane so high in the sky. And wave to the rest of us as he passes by. JANE FIELDS
