We cxlclcuvm' to erxprvss not What our hearts feel, but can speakg ur tongues speak, but can- vey. What 0 not con goreworci Long ago within these glades, Powhatan's children romped and played. Indian braves, white settlers too, felled here great trees, and fashioned canoes. Above the soft whisper of sky-sweeping pines, Came the beat of tom-tom, Or a church bell's chime. These very paths which now we tread, Were perhaps once sanctified and dyed blood-red, For here, missionaries labored, prayed, and died, And for their sacrifice .... The lonely sigh of these tall pines down through the years Their only epitaph--a forest's tears. Today, within these happy glades, Walsingham's children romp and play, For now upon this hallowed ground, With firm foimdation, deep and sound is raised An edifice in brick and stone, Dedicated, consecrated to God Alone. Here, students study, pray, and play, While Truth is pursued through each new day. Yes, here is our Challenge flung against the sky-- A Divine Answer to our every why -- The Cross--Greatest Lesson emblazoned in gold, Living forever when all others have been told. 6 0-I, , bk- . I W' W 1 l X X jvj' X ,A M o Although little Ruby Holmes lived only six years, her life - - in the eyes of the Lord - - was a success. Ruby in this short span of time reached a goal that many have failed to attain even in maturity. She has found eternal life. Before undergoing a delicate heart operation, Ruby was baptised at St. Bede's Church by Father Michael. Within a few days God called her to her Heavenly Home, where she remains now and forever. Maythe quiet shining of Ruby's pure, innocent soul continue to radiate its gentle influence upon all of us who knew and loved her. Let us find Hope and Inspiration in the life of Ruby Holmes - - that when we reach the end of our seeking, we too, may run to God with the divine abandon of a little child. 60 AL' 1 A, .A . , W ' K., v f.
