The Concert Band plays mainly traditional and popular music and stages two concerts per year: one during the Christmas season and the other during Spring. The band also performs at the Walsh Graduation Ceremonies held at E. 1. Thomas Hall. In the future, the Concert Band should continue to provide both entertainment and a chance for musicians to improve their talents. Directed by Mr. Nelson Gorbach, the Walsh Stage Band is composed of twenty musicians who play jazz selections and classics from the Big Band Era. They perform with the Concert Band at the Christmas and Spring concerts and by themselves at such events as the Freshman Welcome Dinner and the Book Fair. Mr. lohn Hasenstab For the class of students who entered Walsh during the school year of 1983-1984, the minimun requirement of lab sciences to be passed before graduation was raised from two to three years. The courses offered to Walsh students were Biology, which was taught by Mr. Steven Ryan, and Mr. john Hasenstab, Chemistry, which was taught by Mrs. Mr. Steve Ryan Katherine Tate and also by Mr. Ogonek, Physics, which was taught by Mr. William Reitz, A. P. Biology, which was taught by Mr. Hasenstab, and Environmental Studies, which was taught by Mr. Ryan.
