Four Year History of the Class of 1953 The class of 1953 started its high school days as the last Freshman class in the old school- During this year, the class took part in the school fair with its float, Mock Wedding, and won second prize. ln our Sophomore year, we received second prize for the decoration of our room during the school fair- This year, the class was represented in the parade by our float, Arthur Godfrey Time. We were also represented by many members of the class on the varsity teams- We began the activities of our Junior year with a float, oops---two floats, in the school fair- The girls won the first prize with their beautiful and effort-requiring float, Time Marches On. Though not winning any honors, the boys had a great time both during and while preparing their float, La Guillotine- During the next February, the class of 1952 turned over their money-making projects to us and we began immediately having dances as soon after as possible- ln April, we added to our total in the treasury by selling refreshments at the John Deere Day. May was a great month for us Juniors, for we had our first experience at putting on a semi-formal dance, the Junior Prom- Much to everyone else's surprise but the Juniors, we made money on it- We began our Senior year with thirty-five members, but soon after, Gregory Smith left us- The class continued through the year with its thirty-four members, but though not a member of the class, we are happy to have Thomas Russell of the class of 1954 graduate with us- This year, our float represented and advertised the Coming Events of our active year- The first large event was our sponsoring the Cvlobetrotters to play in Walpole with the Hartland Lions- This project, first of its kind in Walpole, brought us enough money for our Washington trip in April- We are extending our thanks to all the people who helped make this event possible- Special thanks go to Miss Stevens for her generous help in making out the programs- Z! mga?
