PICKAWAY COUNTY HONOR SOCIETY To be chosen as a member of the National Honor Society is a great honor for any student. The County Honor Society Banquet is held in a different school in the county each year. Last year the banquet was held at Ashville High School on April 15. The Ashville P. T.A. planned and served the dinner. New officers were elected during the business session. They were: Linda Wilson, Pickaway, President, George Bowling, Jackson, Vice-President, Dianne Nance, Ashville-Harrison, Secretaryg Bean Stevenson, Chaplaing Larry Fu11en, Ashville-Harrison, Sergeant-at-Arms. The pupils pictured were elected from the 1956 junior and senior classes. The newly nominated members from Walnut School that year were: Joan Gorden, seniorg Larry Hines and Anna LeMaster, juniors. 44

OFFICE ASSISTANTS: These students work in the office one period per day, helping with many of the daily office details. They are selected on the basis of scholarship, ability, and integrity. WALNUT TOWNSHIP HONOR SOCIETY STANDING: Sarah Jane Cline, Don Forquer, Mrs. Iudd Dresbach, Jerry Neff, Carol Cook. SEATED Laura Hartman, Bonnie Wells, Larry Hines, Anna LeMaster, Patty Harber, Ray Richards. The annual tapping service of the National Honor Society was held in an assembly of the upper grades on March 15,' 1957 at 2 P. M. The service included three former members of the National Honor Society: Miss Mary Jo Gaskalla, Miss Nancy Hedges, and Mrs. Richard Hanson. Anna LeMaster and Larry Hines received this honor last year. Those who were tapped this year were: Sarah Jane Cline, Don Forquer, Carol Cook, Jerry Neff, juniors: Patty Harber, Laura Hartman, Bonnie Wells, and Ray Richards, seniors. 45
