emphasized in mathematics, science TOP RlGHT: Math students of the advanced-standing class :wonder over their solid geometry problem. TOP LEFT: Plant examination and care are practiced in botany classes. BOT- TOM: Fascinating experiments gain the students' interest in ohysics. The development of a student's ability to reason logically and work accurately is stressed in the math and science pro- grams. ln the one department a range ot subiects trom seventh grade math to senior calculus is taught, while in the other, biological and physical sciences comprise the curriculum. This year, in addition to the regular courses in these tields, advanced-standing classes were expanded and introduced. The three- year honors math program reached its tull development by offering intensive work to sophomores, iuniors, and sen- iors. Moreover, Walnut Hills welcomed the initial appearance ot an advanced- standing chemistry class tor students with special interest in science.
