Languages aid world In recent years the relationship between the United States and her European neighbors has become more important than ever before. These nations have a tre- mendous effect on our daily lives and culture, for many of our traditions are based on those of other countries. Therefore, the planners of the Walnut Hills curriculum have placed great importance on the study of foreign languages. It is thought that a comprehensive study of these languages will help us understand the influ- ence they have on our society. Accordingly, three modern foreign languages, German, French, and Span- ish, are offered at Walnut Hills. Through this education in these foreign tongues 0 student will both broaden his academic knowledge and expand his understanding of the human race. These two accomplishments are basic for a sound education. understanding ABOVE: Spanish students present a pro- gram of Castiliun Carols. BELOW: Mrs. Murie-Louise Creelmun, Spanish; Miss Janet Kemme, Spanish, French; Miss Martha Kitz- man, German; Miss Irene A. Steinou, French. 19
