Class Prophecy Here it is folks: A first hand report of THE SOCIAL EVENT OF THE YEAR. DATE: June 2, 1997. PLACE: Friendly's, Natick, Mass. OCCASION? The 25th reunion of the Class of l972!!!!!!! Ms. Betsy Grady, a spry 42 year old, planned, organized and asked Mr. Taylor's permission for this bash. She also provides the entertainment herself, still singing her heart out with John. Among the first arrivals were Sue Nichols and her pet cow Bessie. Next came Pam Tufts who, wanting to bein R1pIey's Believe It or Not, has just spun a cocoon for 5 years. Oh, Look!!! Here comes Teen Angel herself, Debbie Dorian who is still singin' those moldie oldies from way back in '72. Excitement mounts as we wait for the bus from Logan which is Checked full of Nutsn. Jane Finigan steps right off Broadway, her name flashing in lights. Susie Gleason, the world's first woman Coke man, trucks in, too. Wendy Swift has just returned from an elephant hunting safari in Africa. Like, Wow! Here comes that far-out Beatnick from Greenwich Village, Nancy Finne- gan. The party really starts to swing when that famous X rated movie star, Gay Edwards, shimmies in. Suzy Henderson and Marianne Martin, the co-owners of Friendly's Inc. have called us in for cocktails. Martha Rowe steps outside for a quick butt. Glo Chu of Chu's Shoes, steps in a bit late. She is accompanied by that ballerina of the bullring, Maria Salazar. Arriving now is Jane Horowitz on a bright Orange Dog sled. Jackie Dunn, that well-traveled Foreign cor- respondent to Belgium, notices the graffiti Stacey Longacre was here. Hobbling in on crutches, with a black eye and no teeth is the rookie outfielder for the Sox, Bets Goodale. Mira! Rosie Dennis brings her 50 kids along. Diana Stockwell, The Massachusettes Bay Bomber, comes flying in on her roller skates with a telegram. It says that unfortunately President Barbara Decrow is unable to attend because she is repainting the White House, purple. Sharon Young passes around some Uncle Ben's converted rice, fhomegrownj. Linda Piccinini offers some of her famous Piccinini Pizza Rollsv. Ding-Dong! Betsy Gosnell calling for Avon. fYa want some Agatha?l Barbara Bauer is going to be a little late because she is still writing a 25 page note of acceptance. At dinner, Deb Sidebottom toasts off with Bottoms-Up? Nancy Scranton still thinks Miller makes it right. Attorney General Page MacDonnell announces that she will do everything pos- sible to beat Nancy Delaney's rap. Delaney has jumped parole from Cook's County for the oc- casion! Nancy Wilcox drinks from the same Budweiser can that she sailed around the world in. A phone call from Rome says that Laura Antinnuci isn't coming because she thought it was to- morrow. News Flash!! In the latest Gilmore special wheels in socialight, Gayle Parker with her new issue of Woman's Wear Daily. It announced that Sarah Perry has inherited Catherine Hinds!! Dr. Susie Freemano admires the chic attire of that hip Haverhill model, Cindy Lewis. Mad Parker finally joins the world of the sane. fget it? mad, sane? Right, I get it. It's a joke, I'm on the floor.J Marsha Stewart passes some of her plastic flowers from the factory around as favors. B. J. Lee suggests that we all play a game but, now, Vicky Machado storms in with a fiery cross, singing We Shall Overcome? The world reknowned authority on etiquette, Barbie McCarty reprimands those girls sitting under the table for their manners. A special men- tion must be made of Lieutenant Nancy Hackbarth who is on leave from active duty in the Ma- rines. For dessert, Laura Ortiz hands out free Hershey Squirts. A quick round of applause comes for Linda Mclnnis who has successfully engineered the building of a bridge over Lake Louise. All in all, the day was a lot of fun, finding that no one had changed all that much and that everyone had lived up to our expectations. Parting words will be that even in 1997, Sue Shalleur will be in the dent. U 79
