The YMCA Youth and Government partici- pants were chosen by attending the Dia- mond Bar-Walnut YMCA Youth and Gov- ernment meetings and collecting merits for each activity they participated in. The YMCA chose nine total students from the Diamond Bar-Walnut area, and five of those students were from Walnut High School. They used the Capitol in Sacra- mento for four days, introducing and debating bills, working on committees and exploring all facets of State Government, as would be done in real government.
