A TRACE OF THE DRAMA TIC Thespians is an international, honorary society. Membership in the society must be earned, and initiation confers life mem- bership. Fifteen points must be earned before initiation. Each point represents ten hours of excellent work. Points are earned for rehearsals, technical work, performances, set con- struction and publicity work. Walnut's Thespian Troupe 2585 sponsored several activities this year. Closed meetings were held bi-monthly throughout the year. Profits from the production of a cookbook, rum- mage sale and the sale of refreshments during performances went into the Thespian treasury. Treasury funds were used to buy equipment for performances and the Drama Depart- ment. Funds were also used to buy awards that were pres- ented td Thespian members. The annual Thespian Awards Banquet was held at the Royal Coachman Restaurant, June 8th. The Drama Department presented five public performances during the year: two musicals, Show Me Where The Good Times Are, Oliverl , one drama, Inherit The Wind, and two children's theater shows, Livin' De l.ife, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. l.
