I, Keith Bowers, will and bequeath my ability to judge soil to jon Cox. I, Edna Carey, hereby will and bequeath my ability to settle down to one boy and get a diamond to Winnie Richards. I, Linda Carey, will and bequeath my ability to listen to Elvis Presley's records a dozen times a day and to collect his photographs by the handfuls to Terry joe Myers. I, Gene Dent, will and bequeath the red lights on the back of my car to Patty Molina. I, Patsy Eller, will and bequeath my ability to go to the Drive-In Theater in the trunk of the car to anyone who thinks they can stand the close quarters, dirt, etc. I, Allen Essig, will and bequeath my demerits in band to Marcia Myers, who helped me earn them. I, Tom Fox, will and bequeath my typewriter to Bob Fox, to help him stay ahead of all the girls in speed tests. I, Kay Givens, will my ability to play Old Maid with Senior pictures in Economics class to anyone who likes to play Old Maid, namely Ray Mosbaugh. I, Bob Gordon, will my ability to argue with Mr. Badgley in Trigonometry to anyone who thinks it is worth it. I, Bill Haworth, will and bequeath my ability to open car hoods .fafely to Judy Gunning. I, Larry King, will and bequeath my hot Chevy, the Chevy that makes the hot ones cooler, and my ability to hold it on the road to Denny Ryan. I, Dow Kiger, will and bequeath my right and bert answers in Government class to Dale Hutson, if needed. I, Delores Lacey, will and bequeath my ability to leave other girls' boyfriends alone to Pat Molina. I, Fay Mosbaugh, will and bequeath my ability to solve other people's problems to Marcia Myers. I, Jeanie Newton, will and bequeath my ability to go with only one person all through HS to anyone willing to try. I, Hazel McCauley, will my ability to lose the car keys three times in one day to my brother, Dick, who will probably do something even worse. We, the Senior Class, hereby will and bequeath this yearbook and our class picture to Walnut Grove High School so that we may be remembered in the future. ....... . CS1gnedl Witnesses: I ' ff? iiii to ioooooaoa 1 'iiii if. CLASS HISTORY We began our Freshman year with 18 boys and 10 girls. Larry King, Don McClintick, Wilbur Brown, Martha Grisey, Fay Mosbaugh, Delores Lacey, Ella May Lacey, and Kay Givens were new students. During the year Aaron White, Bonnie Williams, and Leo Wise joined our class and Ella May Lacey moved away. Our offi- cers were Keith Bowers, President, Bob Gordon, Vice-President, and Preston Rinker, Secretary and Treasurer. The Seniors properly initiated us and we enjoyed the party given for us afterwards. The Christmas party was held at Fay Mosbaugh's. Dick Webb was elected as our Student Council member. Jeanie Newton was elected as our candi- date for Basketball Queen and won the honor of being the Queen. Our second class party was a journey to Turkey Run State Park. We had 22 boys and 9 girls at the beginning of our Sophomore year, with Dow Kiger as a new member. During the year Bonnie Williams, jerry Cockrill, Steve Snyder, jim Grace, and Wilber Brown withdrew and later the second semester, jerry Cockrill returned. Our officers were Dick Webb, President, Bob Gordon, Vice-President, Fay Mosbaugh, Secretaryg Preston Rinker, Treasurerg and Hazel McCauley, Reporter. Our class sweaters were ordered in Columbia Blue with white letters and numerals. We sponsored a skating party at Alexandria. Our Christmas Party was held at Hazel Mc- Cauley's and in the spring we journeyed to Brown County. Hazel McCauley was our candidate for Basketball Queen and Jeanie Newton was our candidate for Track Queen. Our Student Council representatives were Dick Webb and Hazel McCauley. .LI L' Our junior year began with 19 boys and 8 girls and during the year Don Mc- Clintiek moved to Lapel. Our officers were: Dick Webb, Presidentg Hazel McCauley, Vice-Presidentg jeanie Newton, Treasurer, and Linda Carey, Secretary and Reporter. Our Student Council representatives were Hazel McCauley, Dick Webb, and Bob Gordon. Linda Carey was our candidate for Basketball Queen and also became Queen. Our class rings arrived the first of December. The Christmas party was at Bob Gordon's. We sponsored a skating party at Alexandria and also gave a class play, Finders Creepers. We had a party after the play at Bill Haworth's home. The first of the year, as juniors, we also had a magazine sales campaign. liight girls and eighteen boys enrolled as Seniors. jerry Cockrill moved during the year. We sponsored a skating party at Noblesville. Our officers were: Preston Rinker, Presidentg Bob Gordon, Vice-President, Hazel McCauley, Secretary, and Jeannie New- ton, Treasurer. Our sponsors were Mr. Bauchert and Miss Thornburg. Our class play was Good Gracious, Grandma and since it was given during the week and just before the beginning of the basketball season we didn't have a party. We sold charm bracelets saying XValnut Grove HS , boxes of mints and peanut brittle, name plates for cars, as well as magazine subscriptions. We got our Senior pictures, name cards, and announcements. Our Student Council representatives were: Bob Gordon, Hazel Mc- Cauley, Dick Webb, and Preston Rinker, As our Senior year of high school closed, the class journeyed to Wfashinton and New York. When we returned there was a mad scramble to get all of our tests finished, and to make sure everything was ready for Baccalaureate and Commencement. We were also guests at the Alumni Banquet. l Page l CLASS PRGPHECY The year is 1967, the place is a sheltered underground city and as we look around we find the members of the Class of 1957 as residents of this underground community. Keith Bower: is found using the new method of farming by radar, using push buttons. Edna Carey is now married and the proud mother of six children. linda Carey has become a high class secretary, and is looking for a rich unmarried boss. Gene Dent is still the only male usher at the Cinerama, and has now attained the head position. Patty Eller has the highly paid job of doing the diseasing for a faith healer. Allen Enig is -the President of the Giggle-Pill industry and business is really cackling. Tom Fox is the famous designer of the new space helmet, and low cut space suits. Kay Givenr is the most popular female rock and roll singer of the year. Bob Gordon is the newly appointed head of the Lonely Hearts Society. Bill Haworth is the head butler in the large southern mansion owned by a retired principal, Mr. Kerr. Dow Kiger is now working ? ? in an insane asylum. Larry King is a salesman of jalopy rocket ships. Delorer Lacey is now married and teaching the techniques of the southern drawl. Hazel McCauley is a licensed surgeon and now the head butcher at the meat packing company. Fay Moxbnugh is married to her sixth husband and still undecided. Jeanie Newton is Society Editor and writer of a gossip column in a nationwide newspaper. Dave 0'Bryhf3rn is The Mad Chemist and at the rate he is going we may not be here long! Preston Rbtker is Mayor of the city and he spends every night on the town. Keith and Wayne Schulenburg are working trying to perfect an artificial sheep so that it doesn't eat anything and all will be profit. Tom Thorp is still growing and is now playing for the professional Gym Dandies basketball team. Dick Webb is the present athletic coach at the exclusive girls' college. Aaron White runs a rocket refueling station next to Larry King's jalopy rocket lot. Charlet Wilham owns the only honest-to-goodness hillbilly guitar left in these parts and he knows how to make it work. Ted Wilhoit is our most eligible bachelor and is continually visiting Dick Webb.
