Mlilaaa Zitiaiargy When the first day of school began in that year, 1951-52, thirty-four ngreenn freshmen took their seats in the assembly. The customary freshmen initiation cere- monies were performed on September 20, with a party in our honor that evening. Now we had to begin to get down to work--and lots of it. The officers for the year were President, Paul Livelyg Vice President, Jerry Rulong Secretary, Marcia Davis, and Treasurer, Dick Mosbaugh. As our sponsors we chose Mr. Badgley and Mrs. Lamb. Our annual Christmas party, at which we exchanged gifts, was held December lh,in the Walnut cafeteria. On March 18 at the Elwood Roller Rink, the freshmen sponsored a skating party. we gave a special program in assembly, April 16. Remember the tree we planted? A class party was held at Shady Side Park in Anderson on May 7 to close the year. Our Sophomore year dawned with twenty-seven bright and shining faces. Those who had withdrawn during the year were Wayne Cady, Nancy Bousman, Pat Thompson, and Jesse McPhearson. The officers elected to serve for the year were: Beverley Johnson, Presidentg Bill Barnard, Vice Presidentg and Dick Mosbaugh, Secretary-Treasurer. This year we chose Mr. Badgley and Miss Reder as our sponsors. We started the year off with a customary nBack To Schoolu skating party, held at the new Alec rink. The most important battle of the year was deciding upon class sweaters. we finally chose cardinal red with white letters. The Christmas party and annual exchange of gifts was held December 23 at Arlene Mosbaugh's home. As our class trip of the year we journeyed to McCormick' Creek State Park. Twenty-two members enrolled in the Junior Class of l95h. Georgia Cruzan, Carl Tharp, and Bill Lacey with- drew at the beginning of the year. Again this year Mr. Badgley and Miss Reder were chosen class sponsors. Marcia Davis was elected President, Paul Lively, Vice President, Beverley Johnson, Secretaryg and Jim Johnson, Treasurer. On September 9 we began our huge magazine subscription campaign. At the end of the battle, a party for the winning team was given in the cafeteria followed by a theater party in Indianapolis. We again held the first skating party for the school year on September 22 at the Alec rink. We purchased our class rings in the fall and were very proud of them. The Christmas party was held at Marcia Davis' home on December 22. Our Junior Class play, nThe Brain Stormn was a large success, due to the hard work of the class members and director, Miss Reder. The sophomores were our guests on our trip to McCormick' Creek State Park.
