Cloyse Hershberger Simon Sommers Clayton Gerber REPORT FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE SCHOOL BOARD In the lnterests of providing better education for our boys and girls the d1str1cts of Walnut Creek Berlin and Paint were consolidated in one school district East Holmes Local It has been apparent for a number of years that because of new standard set up by the State Board of Education small high schools could not contlnue Then too because of increased enrollment in our elementary grades our present program does not provide us enough room to give our chlldren the kind of education we want them to have which will provide for a burldlng program to take care of our needs We want to thank them for their co operation Especially do we want to thank the members of the Publtcrty Committee and the teachers who have given of their t1me and effort in bringing the facts to the people We have taken a big step forward but much remains to be done It is only with continued co operation that we can have the kind of schools we want Neither money nor oratory nor good inten tions can accompllsh much without the essential fuel the will to assert for community good the massive muscle that citizens in working together possess No school drstrrct ever has a better school system that its people want and are willing to work for No school system can be better than the com munity at large Ralph Miller . . . . The days we took pictures were quite busy days for us. There was lots of chasing up and down the stairs, looking for people who were supposed to be on the picture. We had many good times getting the pages ready to be sent in to the company We will be happy when everything is finished. We appreciated the assistance so ably given us by our advisor, and we would also like to thank Duane for his help.
