We took part in many of the activities, joined various clubs, and some of us were good enough to be on the varsity teams. The next year we moved up to be Sophomores, and again we were divided into two groups, This year the boys were under the guidance of Mr, Howard Johnson, and the girls had Mr, Irie Leonard as their class advisor. Now, we were climbing steadily, In the fall of '51, we began our long and awaited Junior year, First, we began planning for the Halloween Carnival, which we thought turned out to be one of the most suc- cessful events of that year, Next, with lots of practice and the guiding hand of Mrs, Clyde Walker, our home-room teacher, we gave our Junior Play, The Red-Headed Stepchild, With the money that we had made from the Carnival and the Junior Play we honored the Seniors with the annual Junior-Senior Banquet. 'I'his, of course, came in the spring and it was a splendid success. Now, it was the autumn of '52, we, being 'dignified Seniors, entered school for our last year. This year we had Miss Margaret Long as our advisor, In the second month of school we received our class rings, and we thought they were the most beautiful ones ever to be had. In the spring of '53, we began to practice for our Senior Play, After several weeks of rehearsing we presented the play and it was a huge success. We, the Senior Class, would like to take this opportunity to thank the Juniors for the fine Junior-Senior Banquet, It was lovely and we had a wonderful time, Now, with our graduation nearing we would like to thank our Superintendent, our Principal, our Teachers, and our Parents for their careful guidance which has helped us to complete our High School days successfully, Roxie Young Smith Class Historian 000 mpgs: F , 1 ,, nj jj . lm' i4 1 -K .,, , , .WW ,rv-ff W Maw A .-3 -ek' vo .4591 . High School at last! We often dreamed of High School and our great anticipation was finally fulfilled It seems long ago when we look back on our memories of the ninth grade In the fall several of our energetic fellow classmen were rugged enough to make the football team We joined numerous clubs among these being the Girls were given a chance to prove their athletic ability along with the boys in basketball During this first year we gave many chapel programs directed by our home -room teach- ers Mr Frank Morgan and Mr Merritt Robinson We will never forget the spring Easter Parade in which several of us lower classmen took part. Health Club, which was organized by Mrs, Irie Leonard. As winter drew near the girls We, as Sophomores, having become better acquainted, finally settled down to High School life, Again we were well represented in extra-curricular activities. Mr, John Seawell, the home -room teacher of the girls, was the able advisor of our entertainment at the Junior-Senior Banquet, In carrying out the oriental theme, the girls were dressed in unique costumes, The boys in Mr. Mitchell Fowler's home-room also did a lively skit. As Sophomores we will remember racking our brains to find the value of x in algebra and peering through the microscope in biology, Another school year has rolled around and we are graceful, high-flying Juniors, Under the guidance of our home-room teacher, Miss Lois Lottis, we began the many activities priviledged to the Junior Class, Our fall activities began with the planning and decorat- ing of the Halloween Carnival which went off with a bang, After mid-term we began practicing the Junior Class Play, Amazing Gracie. The play was a howling success and, in addition new talent was demonstrated, With the proceeds of the Halloween Carnival and Junior Play we presented, in the spring, our pride of the year the Junior- Senior Banquet, We wish to thank the Sophomores for the delightful entertainment they provided, We have enjoyed this year and hope to meet together as Seniors next year, Clara Atkinson Class Secretary CO'-W Y X mugngqwmw 60 Aiymmm i a x 2 , i X V 8 , , ' - H a.. 1 Sffiidff iff, 581515, lex 1 , A 'V f ff ff' 1' s ,fan-,-- .::L. 5-...gn -j.,,4 lj Standing, left to right: Virginia Carrico, Secretaryg Willis Hole, Vice Presidentg June Young, Song Leaderg Clavis Shelton, Secretary, Seated: Nancy Scott, Presidentg Harvey Rothrock, President.
