VARSITY CLUB Look in the roll of the Varsity Club to find the names of the school's top athletes. Each member has earned at least one letter in a varsity sport. The main function of this or- ganization is to make money for the athletic fund. This they do by selling programs at games, sponsoring dances, and washing cars. From this athletic fund they have contributed an outdoor micro- phone for the football field, some kneebraces, and new scrimmage jerseys. They also paid for the guest speaker at the football banquet. Mr. Evans, Walled Lake High's athletic Director, is the sponsor of the Varsity Club. 76 Varsity Club members sink baskets

Each year a Student-Faculty basketball game is organized for the senior members and the women's faculty. At the end of the year an award Banquet is held for the girls and their mothers. This year the French Club was started The club members really worked hard to get this club going They have pen pals from France and correspond regularly Their Christmas party was one to remember With Christmas carols sung in French and French costumes and decorations how could anyone forget 'P At their regular meetings they play Scrabble or hangman, using French words. In front of the room are both the French and the American flags. The French Club hopes to have an increase in its member ship in future years.
