As a journalism class, the staff visits schools in the League for workshops. These workshops special- ize in the different phases of publishing a paper. DEBATE AND DISCUSSION Resolved: That the U.S. should adopt the essential features of the British system of education. This was the topic for this year's debate squad. Var sity debaters were Renee Thibideau, and Diane Slinker, affirmativeg Dodie Duckwitz and Karen Kassner, negative. The Jay-vees were Frank Crawford, Tom McClelland, Marianne Ketchum, Lothar Schlafke, Nina Hill, and Meredith Tuma. Others participating were Judy Barnes, Judy Burrell, and Karen Eicher. The debates are held with the other schools in the Inter-Lakes League. The discussion group, composed of most of the debaters,' holds round-table discus sions with these Va same schools. The results are judged and sent to Ann Arbor. Those participating are judged on their co-operative attitude, com- municative speaking, knowledge, and analysis of the subject. rsity Debaters R.
