Besides serving the student body, this organization prepares members to become good future citizens and gives them practical knowledge about democracy. In addition to organizing dances and assemblies, the Student Council this year sponsored two very suc- cessful special events, a variety show, Around the World in Eighty Minutes, and a carnival. This year a new function was added to the Student Council. Students who twice violated school rules were called before the Student t Council to account for their be- havior.
