Our Sewing Class After all that has been said about some of the classes, we wish to mention our sew- ing class. Although we are not all Seniors in this class, we are honored by having quite a few of these most-noteworthy classmen. You will, if you investigate, find this class rL ' presented by Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. The girls of all classes seem interested in sewing, for they find that even the much despised darning comes in handy at times. And who wouldn ' t be intere:ted in sewing if she had the wonderful teachers that we have? One of the most interesting features of this class is the way in which our little Velma Carter tries to run the sewing machine at 60 miles per minute. Sometimes when she is sewing a long seam at this speed she will run off the goods, and still keeping up her record-breaking speed by treading violently on the peddling apparatus she will call excitedly for help. Now you must realize that Velma has just recently acquired the knowledge of running a sewing machine. Her chief source of pleasure apparently seems to be in speeding up. Of course you will only begin to realize the vivacity of this class when I tell you that the characters who play the important parts in contributing to its liveliness are Mar- jorie, Billy, Frances, Mabel. Bernadine, Velma, Margaret, Clara, Kittie, Mir- iam, Josephine and Betty Shaaf. B. S. -11.
