l l Freshmen Freshmen Freshman class officers are IL to RJ-Tracey Johnson Csecretary-treasurerb, Bert Fussell Ceo-presidentj, and Tony Murphy leo-presidentl. Encountering more change at W-RH than any other class, freshmen enjoyed the new privileges of high school. Adjusting to a different kind of schedule, a different faculty, and new responsibilities, these underclassmen matured through everyday experiences. Although the freshmen's schedules were centered mostly around mandatory courses, each freshman had one elective. Like the sophomores, many of these newcomers chose to take the National Education Development Test as a preparatory measure for this kind of testing. Since club activities were somewhat limited for freshmen, participation and interest in sports occupied much of their time. Exhibiting much physical zeal, the freshmen participated in varsity as well as junior varsity sports. Although change was a necessary part of the '79-80 school year for freshmen, these students adapted easily to the changes and became an important part of the school. 75
