Juniors entered the school year with much enthusiasm. Expectancy of new experiences and changes led many juniors to mature, as they realized that more responsibility rested upon them. Standardized testing was an impor- tant part of the year. Preparing for the SAT, many of the students took the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test. Another new encounter for the juniors was taking the North Carolina Compe- tency Test. Because the passing of this test is a necessity to graduate, juniors seriously acknowledged the significance of it. Ordering and arrival of class rings was perhaps the most memorable occurrence for many juniors. Other activities, such as club initiations also provided much fun. Daily experiences-happy and sad-revealed to many juniors the changes occurring now and those which would come later.
