Students participate in local parades Many Wallace-Rose Hill students ap- peared in the Wallace Christmas Parade. Among the units were the Homecoming float, the Spanish Club float, the REMINISCENCE car, and the W-RH cheerleaders. Providing entertainment for onlookers, the Wallace-Rose Hill District Band played a variety of songs. These students helped to make W-RH a part of the parade and to get the school involved in the community. educational opportunities 11 During the summer, Gwen Austin attended basketball camp to improve her skills. 3 After being selected DAR Good Citizen, Mary Susan Phillips receives an .official insignia from her mother, Mrs. Lorraine Phillips. Many students brought honors to W-RH by representing the school in various summer programs. Whether academic or athletic, these programs allowed individuals to expand their interests. Change again became appar- ent as students returned with added insight and maturity. .,,4,J Definitely improving his abilities, Terrell Boney attended band camp. V 7'-e Attending football camp helped im- prove Tommy Uzzell's skills. Attending the prestigious North Carolina Governor's School enlightened the lives of Craig Fox and Joseph Vilas. Ll ks 127

Student body enjoys spirit Week Stone and Felecia Hon-ell enjoy ughouling around during spirit -A. Dressing as Halloween creatures, Cindy Wellons and Jill Teachey enjoy Spirit Week activities. Students immensely enjoyed Spirit Week as they dressed up in various costumes throughout the week. Hat Day, Disneyland Day, STAR WARS Day, and Orange and Black Day provided a change for the entire student body. Experiencing reversal of roles, Samuel Coston cheers the girls during the Powder Puff football game. Besides the different days of dressing in costumes, a Powder Puff football game was held. Members of the Girls' Mono- gram Club played a game of touch football while members of the Boys' Monogram Club acted as cheerleaders. On Friday, a pep rally, the homecoming game, and the homecoming dance brought an end to another W-RH homecoming.
