SENIOR CLASS HISTORY School: OWIISG on September 3rd 19151 and we enter- ed our first year of high school With an enrollment of thirty-six and a decrease of four students. The foll- owing officers were elected: President, Dwane Ashcraft Vice President, Shellis Robinson: Sect., James Heldreth Treasure, Jim Ice. We chose the Wild Rose as our flower and our motto was, nLet the Boys take over.n Our Colors were green and white and our sponsor was Mrs. Smith On September 4 we entered our Sophomore year of High School. We started the year off with the enroll- ment of thirty-one students. During the year we had a decrease of four students. The following officers were elected: President, Janice Underwoodg Vice President, Mary Ellen Shrader: Sect., Eleanor Davis: Treasure, Jeanie Ash. Our class cheerleaders were Gene Swlger and lilly Clayton. Our class flower was the Wild Rose. Our motto, 'let the girls lead and the boys follow.' We chose Purple and Orange as our colors. Mr. Squires was our sponsor. WE entered our Junior year with an enrollment of twenty-six, one boy was missing after the first Semester. Our class officers were: President, Duane Ashcraftg Vice President, Mary Ellen Shraderz Sect., Marilyn Moore Treasure, Jil Ice. Our flower is the 'rasberry blossem.' 'Let the Boys take over,' wasour motto. We chose Eleanor Davis and Ann Rose Hayhurst for the Cherleaders. We selected 'Everybody is getting marr1ed,' for our Junior Play. We sold magzines, the first of the year to raise money for the Junior-Senior Banquet. At Christmas time our class fixed up a basket of food and :ave it to a needy family. Mrs. Smith is our sponsor. We entered our Senior year with an enrollment of 20, one by was missing after the first six weeks. Our class officers were as follows: President, Jim Heldrethg Vice-Pres-Blenna Pigotts Secretary-Jeanie Ash, Treasure, Jil Iceg Our clors are pastil shades, our flower-Yellow Forsythia, our bird-mocking bird, nThe Ropes of the past ring the bells of the future,' was our motto. Ib selected our play. It is 'Stars in Their Eyes' It will be presented April 2,1954. We are looking for lard to the Junior-Senior Banquet and graduation.

We the graduating class of 1954 of Wallace High School, town of Wallace, district of Sardls, county of Harrison, state of West Virginia, a small percentage of of mind, and all of us being free of all body Jn a care free mood, do declare this our last testament to be in form and manner as follows: To the entire school we Seniors will our always be happy, whatever we do, or wherever us being sound lnflrmities and will and ability no YD 8.19 u To the teachers, we will our books, and remember: 'Give To the World the Best That You Have, and the Best Will Come Back To You.n To the Junlor Class we will our ability to become great Shskespearlan actors and actersses, To the Sophomore Class we will our ability to pass all of our tests and still mlss lots of school. To the Freshmen Class we will our ability to get out of here soon, raise large families and above all, work as little as possible. To the seventh and eighth grades we will you our places in the office, but think first before you talk back. I, Richard Hurst, will to Sonny Cumberledge my ability to play basketball. I, Bob Rogers, will to Carl Clayton my ability to tease the girls and make them like lt. I, Allen Fleming, will to Cecil Burdine my ability to be a comedian and keep everyone entertained. I, George ShawJ will to Ronnie Shriver my ability to stay away from the g1rls.n We, Jim Heldreth and Duane Ashcraft, will to the young democrats in the Junior Class our ability to uphold our party ln all pollgtical discussions in Civics Class I, Belva Jo Coburn, will my seat on the school bus to aomeone who gets tired of hanging on the edge I, Mildred Carpenter, will to my brother Freddie, my ability to pfse all his subjects, especially Typing and Chemistry I, Ealeanor Davis, will to my brother Bill, The whole school house and all teachers, so he can visit only when he wants to. I, Anna Shriver, will to Pug Ashoraft, my place at the candy counter.
