JAN Buda! SENIOR CLASS HISTORY School: OWIISG on September 3rd 19151 and we enter- ed our first year of high school With an enrollment of thirty-six and a decrease of four students. The foll- owing officers were elected: President, Dwane Ashcraft Vice President, Shellis Robinson: Sect., James Heldreth Treasure, Jim Ice. We chose the Wild Rose as our flower and our motto was, nLet the Boys take over.n Our Colors were green and white and our sponsor was Mrs. Smith On September 4 we entered our Sophomore year of High School. We started the year off with the enroll- ment of thirty-one students. During the year we had a decrease of four students. The following officers were elected: President, Janice Underwoodg Vice President, Mary Ellen Shrader: Sect., Eleanor Davis: Treasure, Jeanie Ash. Our class cheerleaders were Gene Swlger and lilly Clayton. Our class flower was the Wild Rose. Our motto, 'let the girls lead and the boys follow.' We chose Purple and Orange as our colors. Mr. Squires was our sponsor. WE entered our Junior year with an enrollment of twenty-six, one boy was missing after the first Semester. Our class officers were: President, Duane Ashcraftg Vice President, Mary Ellen Shraderz Sect., Marilyn Moore Treasure, Jil Ice. Our flower is the 'rasberry blossem.' 'Let the Boys take over,' wasour motto. We chose Eleanor Davis and Ann Rose Hayhurst for the Cherleaders. We selected 'Everybody is getting marr1ed,' for our Junior Play. We sold magzines, the first of the year to raise money for the Junior-Senior Banquet. At Christmas time our class fixed up a basket of food and :ave it to a needy family. Mrs. Smith is our sponsor. We entered our Senior year with an enrollment of 20, one by was missing after the first six weeks. Driving on, we soon arrived X ' f at the home of Ball State Teachers College in , W Muncie. We heard that Mary Ellen Shrader was directing a 'mens glee club , A ' . at the college too. At least there would be glee le- we f if not a club. As we chugged along toward our dee- 'fp 1 MIMJW gination we came to a railroad track and we saw m ce a hobo jumping off a passing train. As ' gi H we entered Clarksburg we read a sign saying, 'Anna 6 Q ,. Hayhurst's Beauty Shop , poodle cuts our specialty. 2 Across the street from the shop was Mildred Carpenters ', I nursery where she cares for her ancestry. On down ' the street we came to a halt and entered a law office. fwnwdul We was much surprised to find that the blonde, private secretary was none other that Janice Underwood. Out App? on the street again we were overwhelmed by the pass- , ing of a sleek blue Cadillac convertible' And who 'e '5'A ! was in it but Joan and Dearl and little Dearl Jr. a neat 11f.f,1e bungalow with 'Jack Wolfe written on the name plate Of course we knew that Zeretha as e as 7721.7 wr' was residing there also. Shelby McCullough. In September of 50 we entered our 2nd year of Jr. High, our officers were, Pres. Shelby McCullough: Vice Pres. Shirley McKenna: Sec. k Tras. Pat Hustead. Our sponsor of both years was Mr. Ashcraft. We entered our 9th year at Wallace on September 6, Mrs. Smith was our sponsor. The following officers were: Pres. Pat Husteadg Vice Pres. Charles Webb: Sect. a Treas. Glenn Hill. Our Sophomore year, the boys took over as officers, with B111 Baker, as President: Glenn Hill, Vice Pres: Carl Clayton as Secretary and Ronnie Shriver as Treasure Our Junior year has brought us new officers, and a new program on which to work. We have started by selling magazines 6 J. Eddie Candies. Our play will be presented in the early part of March and the banquet is scheduled to be held later in the spring. Our class flower is the oarnation and our bird the crow. Our motto, nlet the Preisi dent rule the class.' Our colors were blee and gold. We had our class party Saturday, November 7 at 7:30. It was a party made up of group games. Games were played until 9:30. Refreshments were served, which lere--Ice Cream Pop and Cookies. On the refreshment committee were Linda Smith, Helen Goldsmith, lyal Bush, Joyce Carson, Judy Bartlett Dottie Dye, Our teacher at the class party were Mr. John Southern, and Raymond Ashcroft. This being the first year up-stairs for most of the Seventh Grade we have enjoyed lt and hope that we can go the rest of the way through school doing as well as we are now.
