1' THE TRAINS OF THOUGHT The TRAINS OF THOUGHT is the college's literary magazine, but it tries to include creative work of the entire college. This year, it had contests for poetry, short story, hand-constructed ceramics, and photography. Included in the pub- lication is the Fine Arts Depart- ment's special music contest. Scott Bell won the poetry prize, joyce Lane won for her short story, ceramics was conquered by Enoch Sellers, and photography was the forte of Mike Lancaster. MONEY MAKING PROjECTS: l-IV 1-October, '74. First Annual George C. Wallace Community College Independent Basketball Tournament iCharged admission, worked concessionsj. ll-November, '74 through january '75, Members sold bumper stickers lll-During basketball season, the members worked the concession stand to make money by selling Pepsi-colas, hot dogs, and popcorn, also at baseball games. IV-March 28-30, 1975. Varsity Club members held the annual George C. Wallace Community College Softball Tournament. The members of the Varsity Club charged entrance fees for 25 softball teams from surrounding areas. We charged admission and also worked a concession stand. ' ' ' ' d'f' t anies and or anizations to be placed on signs and put on the V-April and May, 1975. The Varsity Club sold advertising to lteren comp g baseball outfield fence. PURPOSE OF CLUB: To raise money in order to improve baseball and basketball facilities of the school and to promote fellowship among the athletes. REQUIREMENTS FOR VARSITY CLUB MEMBERSHIP: MUST BE A MEMBER of the Governors Baseball or Basketball team. 231
