BASEBALL ATHLETIC HONORS Danny Ammons, captain of The Governors for the past two years, is described by Coach Sammy Frichter as one of the most consistent ball players in Alabama. He batted 337, played outfield, and had a perfect fielding average of 1.000. Danny is all-conference and was voted state captain. These baseball players had a lot to do with The Gover- nors winning the district championship this year. Donnie Crawford frightj was all-conference third baseman, batting .300 with a fielding average of .750. Lefty pitcher jackie Snell tcenterj was ranked second nationally and in the state. He racked up a record of 4-1 for the year with an earned run average of 1.00. jackie was drafted by the St. Louis Cardin- als. Donald Albares fleftj, second round draft choice of the Minnesota Twins, was all-conference second baseman with his fielding average of .894 and a batting average of .278.
