F our years suddenly terminate. Time to leave the huddle, to walk out into life with a certain amount of warm glow and some unanswered questions. Maybe college was a warmup to finding a job, paying off a loan and rearing a family. Maybe it made the folks proud and kept you out of the draft. 0r integrated your personality. College has done something else: ifs made you awfully respon- sible to a worldful of people who grope for a way to reach tomorrow, who die slowly and without meaning, who ask few questions along the way. Three billion statistics named Tao and Siegfried and Doug and Christinueeuch trapped in what philos- ophers call the Human Predicament. Where is the answer? Salvation by IBM? Positive thinking? Tranquilizers? The answer didn,t originate with Walla Walla College. Back in the beginning a F ather and Son worked out a rescue plan. . . .
