In emmfy Elder Gwynne Weston Dalrymple became a member of our College family in the spring of 1938 to fill a vacancy in the School of Theology faculty. From then until his illness, which resulted in his untimely death on the morning of December 31, 1940, he worked faithfully and untiringly for the spiritual and intellectual interests of the theological department and of the College in general. An attack of the flu took him from his work in the school and the development of a severe case of pneumonia caused grave concern among students and teachers. Many earnest prayers were offered to God for his recovery, but we all bowed in submission to the divine Will that permitted his decease. This tragic end of our brother's short career among us caused very deep mourning in the school family and community,-grief that finds relief only in the assurance that our friend and fellow- worker is soon to awaken at the call.of Him NVho is the Resurrection and the Life. -FRANCIS M.
