Dear Esther: I am at present greatly enjoying the privilege of hav- ing a little part in our great work. The Lord has blessed the special efforts put forth by His people here in Moscow fldaho's university townj. It has been a pleasure to be associated with them. By the time you editors begin your proofreading I shall probably be at Cle Elum fWashing- ton's coal centerj. The plan is to conduct a hall effort there before camp meeting. Do your level best to get more of our young people to throw themselves wholly into Our Work. lt's absolutely the greatest opportunity for good before us. Sincerely, Wm. A. Westerhout f'22l 31214 La Nlision Ecuatoriana de los Adventistas del Septimo Dia. Cajabamba., S. A. Dear Friends: Why did we go? Because W. W. C. gave us the vision and an opportunity to get the training to answer one of the Andean Macedonian calls. We can only recommend one place better than our Alma lVlater, and that is South America and Ecuador in particular. Remember the call from the roof of the world when you have received what W. W. C. offers you. Very sincerely, ORLEY FORD C171 1 ?9f'P2-'MP'-'f-'1-f'3::'.'-'u'h1,,jii-11:-'Wifi .TJffiif,,H.a,s-.1-..,:--. -jpg '11Fa 5ff-'Q!7i '- 4 1U' i-,NTI i l'3 5' Y? Su-fanny, N the afternoon of May 27, l9l 7. the Senlm' gfaduat' ing class, together with former graduates who were then living in the village, met in the parlor of the Sani- tarium to discuss the advisability of organizing an Alumni Association. President E. C. Kellogg and Professor W. C. Flaiz, also Dr. D. E. Stewart, who was then the presi- dent of the graduating class, gave speeches that empha sized the importance and value of such an organization. During the meeting, over which Dr. Stewart presided, ted. Un- for the First term a constitution was presented, discussed, and adop der the constitution officers were elected idenreich, President: Anna t: Professor C. D. Striplin, secre- tary-treasurerg Mrs. W. l. Smith, assistant secretary-treas- urerg and Mrs. C. A. Burman, historical secretary. Every year since the organization was completed, except the year l92l, the Association has met to elect officers., take in new members, and partake of bounteous refreshments in the form of luscious strawberry short-cake with whipped cream. l wouldn't have you get the idea that all of the meeting time is given over to the above men- tioned activities, however, for l can assure you that a as follows: Professor W. M. He J. Olson, vice-presiden large portion of the time is taken up in discussing ways and means of helping Our Alma Mater. Though a great many suggestions have been made for the improvement of the association and for increasing the influence of the organization, it takes money to put the suggestions into effect, and cash is something the association has very little of. The membership of the Alumni Association at the present time is nearly one hundred. about eighty-five per cent of these are actively engaged in some phase of denominational endeavor. The fact that our member- ship is scattered all over the world-missionaries, teach- ers and conference workers in foreign fields-makes it very difficult for the association membership to give very much attention to questions and business which would or- dinarily come within the sphere of such a group. However, the past few years have marked a period of renewed interest in our Alma Mater by its graduates and l believe we shall see this interest grow still further and the influence of the Alumni Association will be felt in a more material way until it shall be considered a very vital part of Walla Walla College.
