During Homecoming week various activi¬ ties took place. Monday started it alt off with ' punk day ' and a jello-eating contest, which was won by Phil Girsberger and Michele De¬ laney. Tuesday was ' occupational day ' and an egg-toss at noon was won by Chuck Ahs- muhs and Rocky Beal. Wednesday was ‘bi¬ zarre day ' and at lunch the traditional Girls League Boys Fed tug-of-war over the Yello- whawk was held. The boys were victorious with a little help from their cleats. Thursday was ‘history’s most admired people day.’ That evening the Wa-Hi girls volleyball team hosted the Eisenhower Cadets and a bonfire did take place, even in the rain. Friday was ' blue and white day ' with a bat race at lunch. The juniors took first; the seniors, second; and guess who took third. In the afternoon the traditional Homecoming assembly was held and the royalty announced. Mr, Bowman ' s homeroom won the pump¬ kin carving contest, and Mrs. Oakley ' s, the ugliest homeroom contest. Friday night, the Wa-Hi Blue Devils stomped the Wenatchee Panthers. 23-10 be¬ fore an enthusiastic crowd on a cold, misty night. On Saturday night the traditional Home¬ coming dance was held in the gym with the theme, Crystal Illusions. Homecoming 9
