Felicity (Sue Newman), and Amalia (Sheila Lake) for being too frivolous Lighthearted Amelia gives stolen flowers to Felicity under the disapproving glances of Sobriety and Prudence Associated Student Body The main project of the Associated Students this year was to present Homecoming in such a way that ait students at Wa-Hi could actively participate. The plans met opposition but had one underlying effect - unification. By domg this, it was hoped that students really would search for the meaning and true value of existing Homecoming traditions. A rock group from Detroit brought in by the cabinet was a great success Dust ' ’ performed at an assembly and in concert attended by more than 1300 Methods of electing class officers was changed so interested students could petition for office, hopefully bringing more enthusiasm Student exchanges were held among the ' Big 9 schools as well as with Yamate High School in Japan These are a few of the projects initiated by the cabinet WALLY COLE President WES CLIZEfl CATHY CUMMINGS STEVE G ARM IRE Vice President Secretary Treasurer 28 STEWART BOND Commissioner of Commumty Affairs MARK FREISE Commissioner of Justice DON GARNER Commissioner of Activities GINNY SORER Yell Queen KAREN HEDINE Girl League President COLLEEN HUNT Commissioner of Publications KEVIN DENNIS Commissioner of Inter High RANDY MELE Yell King ' GEORGE BEITQ Boys Federation President 29 JUSTICE DEPARTMENT Teckla Smith. Wa- Hi recovered a fumble and Moreno scored on the third play from four yards out After Pendleton scored on a 39-yard run. they forced Johnson to punt, a plan which backfired as be ran 72 yards with a bad snap from center Another recovered fumble by Kent Hoover set up a 30-yard romp to paydirt by Moreno making the score 21-7 Moreno scored again from 10 yards out An intercepted pass by Hoover put the Devils into scoring position and six plays later, Johnson made the score 34-7. Finally the Devils drove 51 yards to make the score 41 20 , Great expectations were spoiled on both ends of the field when Wa-Hi and Davis tied 7-7 at Yakima Wa-Ht ' s one TD was scored on an interception by Kent Baumann who then proceeded to travel 25 yards, unharrassed, to the goal line Davis made two incomplete passes before hooking up to make their TD Against Wenatchee. Wa-Hi got whitewashed 18-0 The Devils managed to gain only 74 yards offensively while the Panthers racked up 262 yards Thanks to the fact that Eisenhower wasn ' t as strong as was thought Wa-Hi was able to obtain their first big nine victory Mike Johnson put up the greatest yardage with 106 yards gained on the ground Yardage didn ' t ptay as great a part in this game as fumbles did-10 in all.
