4 fGHf. Co-Captain RANDY McDOUG SID ST El m Nevertheless, Jim Oury broke up some of Pasco’s last drives for a score to break the deadlock. Furious from losing two consecutive games and tying another, the Blue Devils cere¬ moniously stomped Kennewick 38 to 7. After Murr and Mc- Dougall put Wa-Hi in the lead, Jerry Ledford intercepted a Lions ' pass and ran 33 yards to set up for a touchdown. Mike Eisele later recovered a fumble. Val Hein threw a 35 yard pass to Jeff Buerstatte for another six pointer. The last game of the season was against the Richland Bombers. Again, the Big Blue moved out its heavy artillery and smashed them 26 to 0. Jerry Gaddy did a great job on offense, and Dave Case caught a good pass that set Wa-Hi up on top. This put the Blue Devils in an undisputed second place in the Big Eight Conference. MARK GRUDZINSKI State All-Star Team

The Blue Devils started the season right with R andy Mc- Dougall, Mike Murr, and Jim McIntosh lancing through the Kennewick Lions’ defense and racking up a 29 to 0 score The Big Blue then leveled its sights on the Richland Bomb¬ ers and blasted them off-the field with a 23 to 14 victory Steve Arland was hot on the offense; Ward Sandberg held the line on the defense Eisenhower fell before a similar onslaught with a final score of 7 to 0. McDougal! scored the only touchdown of the game and the Cadets ' offense was stymied by Scott Brotherton on one side and Hugh McEachen on the other. The first half of the Davis game looked bad for the Devils, who were behind 14 to 6. Determined not to break their winning streak, the Devils got in gear and smashed the Pirates 33 to 14. During the second half, Jerry Ledford won the battle for a Davis fumble, and the Blue charged in for six points. After that, the Davis defense crumbled before an offense led by Murr. Their offense was almost completely halted by our defensive line led by Tow McOmber and Dirk Jansen. Then the Blues ran head on into a brick wall called the Wenatchee Panthers at our homecoming. Eric Johnson scored a touchdown after running 14 consecutive plays down 63 yards worth of field. The only other touchdown was scored when Johnson hit Gary Brumback on a short pass. Wenatchee scored three times and made alt of their extra points, making the final score 13 to 21. The game with Moses Lake was equally disappointing. Even though Mike Casey made an outstanding showing for the defensive line, the Blue Devils lost 7 to 19. We also drew a 0 to 0 tie with the Pasco Bulldogs in the wettest game of the year.
