RANDY McDOUGALL A good team is made up of dedicated players — players whose desire to win forces them to forfeit pleasures that the non-participant enjoys. The mem¬ bers of the Wa-Hi football team began turnouts August 23rd with temperatures sometimes above 90 degrees. It ' s no fun to run and tackle in that much heat, but Wa-Hi players persevere, trying to put their bodies in good physical shape. When school begins, there are four practices a week, three after school and a fourth Thursday evening. The Wa-Hi player is required to be on the practice field by three o’clock. That’s not much time to go to ones locker, return to the locker room, and dress into his bulky football uniform. But the Wa-Hi player knows that his promptness to practice is mandatory and that the discipline imposed upon him is a chief ingredient to winning games. Wa-Hi football players do work hard and do give up a great deal for one goal shared by them all . . , to win games for Wall a Walla High School, 16
