The Wa-Ht Orchestra, under the direction of Clarence Cassell, has had an enjoyable year fol¬ lowing a year of taking a superior rating at the contest in Spokane. This year has been full of performances. The orchestra started early by performing for the Teachers ' Institute on October 2 . Other performances were for the Senior Play, December Concert, Christmas program with the choir, Nurses ' Graduation in February, other plays, business clubs. Spring Concert, and Baccalaureate, Some of the members performed with the All-Northwest Orchestra in Boise Idaho, April 3-6. Bob Kittle Militant De i The ROTC Batalhon started the year with an aJ[ time high enrollment of 333 cadets. The training received by the ca¬ dets is the equivalent of basic training minus the range fir¬ ing and maneuver stages The cadets made an excellent showing in the Veterans ' Day Parade The Sponsors and Drill Team provided the half-time en¬ tertainment at football and basketball games in addition to performing many school and community services. The success which the ROTC BataMion has enjoyed since it was officially recognized in 1919 is due to the enthusiasm of the cadets and the encouraging support given by the school and community. The ba tall ion h ad one of the highest ratings on the Federal Inspection in the Sixth Army area last year and it hopes to do better this year. Cadet Lt. Col. Leroy Farley and Cadet Captain Harriet Buckman have turned in superior performances as batallion commander of the ROTC cadets and Captain of the sponsors. The boys ' and girls ' rifle teams have been most active this year The boys competed in the William Randolph Trophy and Sixth Army matches placing high in both The girls have won many NRA awards this year Dave Soper Drill Team.
